I would be extremely remiss if I did not mention TastyDrop.com when talking about Wine 2.0, and so here I am attempting to make amends. TastyDrop is what you would get if you mixed wine with digg.com, it’s pretty much exactly like digg expect that you rate wines and vote for wines. Like digg, wines that are recommended go in a sort of “holding bin” until they get enough votes, then we they get the necessary number of votes they are promoted on the main page. I’ve actually grown really fond of this site and I like the fact that it is tailored specifically towards wines, has a very easy to use interface, and overall the reviews that I have read have been very helpful. I have used TastyDrop more than once in finding a good wine to pair with a dessert. It’s not quite going down to the local wine shop and talking to the 65 year-old owner but it’s pretty darn good.
